Block/Bickley Reception 10/25/08
October 27th, 2008
This past Saturday I had the pleasure of playing at Marbles. It is a Kid’s Museum by day, but a great place for a wedding at night. In fact, I was just there a week ago partying with my 3 year old son during the day! Anyway, back to the reception. Anna and Rex came in during the cocktail hour and started mingling right away with the guests in the lobby area, where by the way, we had our AWESOME new photo booth set up. The guests were loving it and started getting in it right away. After an introduction of just the bride and groom, they went it to their first dance “Lovin’ in Her Eyes” by Taj Mahal. A really cool song and they had a sweet dance to it. Everyone loved it. They then danced with their parents to “What a Wonderful World”. Dinner was an amazing buffet by Catering Works. After all of the guests finished their dinner, it was time for me to take over. I will have to admit, this wasn’t the easiest crowd to get going. I was starting to sweat it as I worked through the couple’s requests and got no action! Anyway, it took a little while, but once I got the first few dancers out there, it was ON! People started coming up asking for all kinds of great requests ranging from Michael Jackson to Bon Jovi! My closers were “Shout” and their choice of “You Never Even Called Me By Name” by David Allen Coe. That was a huge hit to close the show! They left under bubbles and bells. All in all, I think that everyone had a great time. I know that I did!
