Talbot/Kuehne Reception 10/5/08

This was a Sunday reception that capped off a very long week. I drank a Red Bull before leaving home and headed to Duke Gardens to rock yet another reception. This one was for Bonnye and JB. They are a great couple and their guests came ready to party! After their introduction to “Happy Hour Polka” (JB is German), we had a blessing from the bride’s grandfather and then everyone enjoyed a huge buffet dinner. After dinner, the groom’s brother Nils had an awesome surprise for the newlyweds. He had a fantastic video presentation that had everyone laughing and in tears by the end. It was a very well done show. Next, we had a toast from the maid of honor, the cake cutting and finally the first dances. JB and Bonnye danced to “Little Wonders” by Rob Thomas. This was the first time I’ve played that song as a first dance, but I have always loved Matchbox 20, so this was a great choice to me. After Bonnye and her father danced to “Stand by Me” (the last song at my own wedding, great choice!), the dance floor opened, tables were cleared out, and the dance party begain. I played a wide range of music for a wide range of guests and everyone seemed to enjoy!
