Corporate Party Madness 12/12-12/14/08

Friday December 12th was yet another holiday party for Equity Residential. They own many apartment developments in the area. I have been doing this group for years, and believe me, they like to party. This gig starts at noon at The Red Room on Glenwood Ave. in Raleigh. By the time they’ve had lunch, done some prizes and some awards, they are ready to dance. Yes, in broad daylight. I know, hard to believe, but it happens. I always get to play some great new and old tunes, along with some line dances of course. They eat it up and it’s always a nice way to spend the afternoon…making people dance!
Saturday’s gig was once again at the lovely Umstead Hotel and Spa in Cary, NC. The group was Brasfield & Gorrie general contractors. This group showed up for cocktails and dinner and shortly afterwards, they were ready to dance. I started off slow, but eventually built up a good group of dancers that were making some great requests. Overall, a good party and I think that everyone had a nice time. Thanks B&G!
To round out the weekend, I did the Governor’s Club holiday party for their employees which they actually held at the Siena Hotel in Chapel Hill. I love that little ballroom and it sounded great in there with the new sound system I was demo’ing (I won’t bore you with those details). They had a nice dinner with stations and drinks, handed out bonuses and then hit the dance floor. There were alot of Latin employees and some of them even gave me salsa CD’s to play! Thanks for the hookup, those songs rocked! I also played some 80’s, hip hop, reggaeton, and more! I was all over the place and their crowd loved it. I look forward to playing at the GC for the members on New Year’s Eve next week!
