Stanley/Bursi Wedding-12/20/08

December 22nd, 2008

Meghan and Chuck, the bride and groom from Saturday, are both F-15 pilots in the Air Force. How cool is that? I actually had never even met them until the wedding day. Cara Zuehlke with A Southern Soiree booked me months ago and help Meghan plan every aspect of the wedding. She even got a shout out from the father of the bride during his toast. She did a great job as usual in keeping things moving and the timeline in place. I only introduced the b&g to “No One” by Alicia Keys and they went into their first dance, “The Very Thought of You” by Frank. Great choice going with Frank! After that, Mr. Stanley toasted and welcomed everyone and then dinner was served.

Jaclyn Parks and the staff at TPC at Wakefield did a phenomenal job of cooking and serving all of the guests. The tables looked radiant with the touch of Lyn Graves from Fresh Affairs, and Donna with Sweet Memories cooked up another amazingly delicious cake. She had great vendors as you can see!

After toasts, cake cutting, and a combined parents dance to “What a Wonderful World”, the dance floor was open! At first, I was worried. Not alot of response to my Motown set, but after breaking into the 80’s and some 90’s dance stuff like “What is Love” by Haddaway (you know, the one with the head bobbing on “Night at the Roxbury”). By the end of the night they wanted to extend another half hour and I basically clubbed it out! I was mixing all new stuff by Usher, Rihanna, and T.I. It was great and I love playing newer stuff at weddings. They left under a shower of sparklers to head off the Asheville for a short honeymoon. Thanks to them for serving in our armed forces and for having me at their wedding!
