Davis Bunn Has Arrived
March 24th, 2008
Well, I didn’t have a wedding this past weekend since I had taken it off thinking I would be on “daddy duty”. I wasn’t, but I did get to see some great basketball games at the RBC Center! Why was I not on duty? Well, my wife who was due on March 15th still had not had our son by Sunday…she was 9 days past due! Just as I was about to go to bed Sunday around midnight, she came down and said “take me to the hospital”. After some quick packing, we headed out. After 2 hours at Rex, they send us back home around 2:30am and said we weren’t ready. What!!??? Ainsley was ticked and I was tired. 2 hours later, Ainsley woke me up again and said “we have to go back”.
After admitting us (finally), we started Ainsley on the necessary IV’s and I thought it would be a quick delivery. I was very wrong. After twisting and turning and pushing, the Dr. made the call for her to have a c section. This was something new to both of us, but I put on my Dr. McDreamy gear and went into the surgery room. The next thing I know they have the baby out in 5 minutes.
He is unbelievably gorgeous and my wife is resting. She was amazing through this whole 41+ week process, what a trooper. Colin (my other son) came by today to see him and seemed excited until we showed him the rocket that Davis “bought”. Then, he basically blew off his brother and moved onto the new toy. Hilarious. Well, I did want to show you some of the photos that my buddy Chris from Azul Photography took today. They are so amazing and he is just getting started. Stand by for the final product some time next week.
