Vernon/Munoz Reception 4/19/08
April 22nd, 2008
I really was worried about my Saturday wedding. I knew that alot of the guests were going to want Latin music and believe me, I am no Latin DJ. I told the bride and groom this from the start, but they assured me that everything was going to be alright! Okay, here we go! So, I downloaded alot of the newer Latin stuff on the charts now and then pulled out some of my older material. I was as ready as I could be. I knew from the start this was going to be a party. I could barely get the bridal party settled down enough to do my introductions! They were on fire and ready to party! As soon as Martin and Beth made it down the long steps at the NC Museum of History, they went right into their first dance “I Can’t Stop Loving You” by Kem. I have to admit, their first dance was sexy! Dinner was a huge buffet by Catering by Design. My buddy Greg always does a fantastic job over there with the food. We also had some great toasts that night and then cut the cake. Immediately after the cake, we did the parent dances and about a minute into the father/daughter dance we invited all fathers and their daughters onto the dance floor. We also did the same during the mother/son dance. I think this is a nice way to not have all of the attention on you for what seems like an eternity. It worked out great.
So, back to the start of this rambling mess of a blog…the music. The bottom line is that it rocked. I played everything from “Suavemente” by Elvis Crespo to “Lean Like a Cholo” by Down (that’s a hip hop song for all of those following along at home). I also touched on Motown, 70’s, 80’s and more. I even did some country ballads come to think of it. It was a great night with alot of great music. I’m so glad they chose me to be their DJ. It was a challenge, but I think I pulled it off! Check out the pictures below by my buddy Dan Hadley. It was great working with him, it’s been too long.

May 5th, 2008 at 10:33 PM yo yo yo!! word up on the wedding gig for my big bro. From one dj (in my head) to another, you blessed the thables that night. Thanks again for making my brother and new sister's night special. You can officially market yourself as Jose de la Bunn!!
May 6th, 2008 at 05:26 PM There is no doubt this wedding was the best! I have only been to two weddings in my life where we actually went out after the reception and certainly only one where the bride changes beforehand. It HAD to be the music that kept us going for sure! DJ Joe you are the Bomb!
May 7th, 2008 at 07:58 PM Everyone knows a good DJ can outperform a band anyday (Unless you could book Prince...)and Beth and Martin picked perfection! Thank you DJ Jazzy-Joe-nice-Bunns man! You had us on the dance floor all night! Way to listen to what your clients wanted!
