This reception took place in Durham at the lovely Washington Duke Inn. I knew this was going to be a great party just by the way people reacted to the introductions! After getting through some very tricky names while talking over “Getting Jiggy With It”, I switched the song to “Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy” and Ginny and Josh made their grand entrance. The crowd went NUTS, and they both looked amazing. Their first dance was an oldie called “Fascination” by Nat King Cole and their routine was actually very good. I think one of my favorite dances this year was the father/daughter dance to “In My Life” by The Beatles. Ginny had told me to cut it half way through and bust into “Ob-la-di, Ob-la-da” also by the Beatles. At this point, her brothers cut in and proceeded to break it down. It was hilarious. Everyone loved it.

The dinner was a great looking buffet and before I knew it, the dancing was beginning…at 7:30 and we were going til midnight! This was going to be a long dance set, but I knew these folks could hang. I played a mix of just about every genre from oldies to 90’s to current stuff and they ate it up. Ginny is a dancing machine! This girl was rocking to just about every song. I love it when the bride and groom are on the dance floor all night. Josh came up at one point worn out from trying to keep up with his new wife. To sum it up, this was a great party due to energetic guests and a great bridal party, and of course great bride and groom. I loved it! I hope to post some pictures by Courtney from Tamara Lackey Photography soon.
