DJ Steve Stowe - Weidner/Davis Reception - October 10th, 2009
October 12th, 2009
Being a producer for ABC in Chicago has its advantages. When Ross and Beth made their grand entrance down the steps of Marbles Kids Museum, the “paparazzi” from Penny Noell Photography were naturally there to record the moment. The bridal party preceded them to “I Gotta Feeling” by the Black Eyed Peas, however the couple entered to “Jump” by the Pointer Sisters. The guests cheered them on and created an exciting entrance followed by the couple’s romantic first dance to Ben E. King’s epic “Stand By Me”. The parental dances of “My Little Girl” by Tim McGraw and “You Are The Sunshine of My Life” by Stevie Wonder took place on the “top of the world” of Marbles’ marble mural on the dance floor, and were met with the usual teary eyes, and “ooo’s and aaah’s” from friends and family.
Dinner was provided by Jeff Eisenhuth with Triangle Catering Company among Marbles’ stunning atmosphere of silver and black linens. By the way, their Shrimp and Grits are AWESOME! Thanks Jeff! After dinner, the toasts were provided by the Best Man and Maid of Honor and the cake was cut to James Taylor’s “How Sweet It Is”. I opened the dance floor to the couple’s request of “December 1963 (Oh What a Night!)” by Frankie Vallie and the Four Seasons and it seems the night’s sing alongs began. The revelers knew the words to every single song that I spun. That’s a great feeling as a DJ.
After the rendition of “Livin’ on a Prayer” by Bon Jovi, the evening finished with “Don’t Stop Believin’” by Journey and the couple exited in style with a kiss and sparklers. Thanks Ross and Beth “Side-Weidner” for inviting me to share your wonderful evening! Photos courtesy of Penny Noell Photography .
