DJ Steve Stowe - Nixon/Claris Reception - October 17th, 2009
October 19th, 2009
A slightly chilly, windy day at the stunning Carolina Yacht Club located in Wrightsville Beach, NC could not put a damper on the spirits of Champ and Angie’s wedding Reception. Kevin Smith is one of the managers there and it always looks amazing. The radiant entrance down the elevator to the fitting chorus of Queen’s “We Are The Champions” lead the way to the first dance to “At Last” by the great Etta James, followed by Angie and her father’s dance to “My Finest Hour” by the Sundays, and Champ and his mother’s dance to Elton John’s “Your Song”.
The beautiful buffet stations were then opened by Bon Appetit Catering, followed by the heart warming toast by the groom’s father. The beautiful cake created by Nicki MacRae of Nicki’s Cakes of Wilmington was cut to “Another One Bites The Dust” by Queen. The evening was rocked by the couple’s choices of 80’s hits such as John Fogerty’s “Centerfield”, “True” by Spandau Ballet, and “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” by Simple Minds. Other classic hits included “Glory Days” by the Boss, “Red Red Wine” by UB40 and Simon and Garfunkel’s “Cecilia”.
Matt McGraw of Matt McGraw Photography took the photos and I will upload some samples as they arrive. Thank you Champ and Angie for the great weekend!
