DJ Steve Stowe - Minges/Nobles Reception - October 24th, 2009
October 30th, 2009
The Umstead Resort and Spa in Cary was the setting for Matt and Kristen’s Reception. The ceremony was moved inside at the last moment due to rain, but was equally as radiant…thanks to the quick work by Ami Wheeler and her staff.
The reception began with the bridal party’s entrance to “Baba O’ Riley” by The Who, also know as “Teenage Wasteland”, with Matt and Kristen making their entrance to “Friday I’m in Love” by The Cure. A welcome by the bride’s father, then the blessing by the Minister preceded dinner followed by the bride and groom’s dance to Nat “King” Cole’s “When I Fall in Love”. The Bride then danced with her rock and roller Father to “Little Wing” by Jimi Hendrix. Matt then danced with his Mother to Babara Streisand’s “The Way We Were”. The cake was cut to Bob Marley’s “Is This Love” and the dancing began to Michael Jackson’s “Beat It”. The bouquet toss was to “Lucky Star” by Madonna and the Groom removed and tossed the garter to “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” by The Darkness. The couple exited to “Stand By Me” by Ben E. King, but other special songs were “Forever and Ever, Amen” by Randy Travis and tears were shed to “Dionne Warwick’s “That’s What Friends are For”.
Thank you Matt and Kristen for letting me join you in your wonderful day. Kristine Dittmer and her crew were the photographers and I will post photos when I receive them.
