Viva La Charleston!
April 15th, 2009
I actually had Easter weekend off and it was awesome! On Thursday, my wife and I left early for Charleston. The boys stayed behind with their favorite babysitter, Bailey. As soon as we arrived, we checked into Charleston Place Hotel, and we hit the rooftop of the “Market Pavilion Hotel”:http://www.marketpavilion.com/ for lunch with my mom and dad. We had a great lunch and then hit King Street for some shopping. That night, we picked up my sister A.D. and went to a late dinner at “High Cotton”:http://www.mavericksouthernkitchens.com/highcotton/. Amazing food and great atmosphere, highly recommended.
On Friday morning, we went to running and then to the spa. Yes, I know, very metrosexual. After that, we had lunch at “Sermet’s Corner”:http://www.americascuisine.com/southcarolina/charleston/sermetscorner.aspx on King St. Another great meal. I might have gained 10 lbs. on this trip! We hung around King some more and then took an amazing carriage ride that evening before dinner at “Cypress”:http://www.magnolias-blossom-cypress.com/. Once again, a 10 on my restaurant list. You gotta check it out! Saturday was our day to return, but before we did, we had one last Charleston meal at “Cru Café”:http://www.crucafe.com/. The bomb! We got in the car full and ready for a Red Bull.
Sunday was a really great day. Easter and Ainsley’s birthday! We went to church, lunch at Firebirds, and then for a bike ride with me towing the boys up Lassiter Mill Rd. to the Ben & Jerry’s for ice cream! That was hard work and we had a great day. We stayed in that night for Ainsley’s birthday since we were exhausted from the weekend and had sushi from Mura. Gym time! Got a lot of weddings coming up so stay tuned to this blog for a busy wedding season!
