Brian (a former UNC Tar Heel football player) and Courtney (a beautiful bride! had an amazing reception this past weekend! What a great party! Let me start from the top. I started playing music around 4pm when the guests showed up, just good cocktail and background music. When the bridal party arrived at The Carolina Club in Chapel Hill, I went down to line them up. I could tell they were going to be fun right off the bat!
The introduction song was “Now That We Found Love” by Heavy D! Classic one! Brian and Courtney then went into their first dance “Let’s Stay Together” by Al Green. Great tune. Brian danced with his mom and Courtney danced with her dad to “How Sweet it Is” by James Taylor. After a welcome by Courtney’s parents, more food came out, and so did the band! Liquid Pleasure took the stage around 6pm and played a great set of oldies and classic party songs. At their break, I played a few songs, and then they came back on with an over 2 hour set, no breaks! They rocked it. I got one more short set at the end of the night. I guess I was there more for the Top 40 stuff and to MC the beginning…no complaints here. I got fed and also got to work with Cara Zuehlke from A Southern Soiree and her amazing team. They did a great job planning this one and keeping the party flowing properly. It is always a treat to work with professional wedding planners!
