Friday was the beginning of a very long and busy weekend. The first stop that afternoon was setting up for the big bridal show at the fairgrounds (more on that later). My Friday night gig was at Duke Law School’s Star Commons. This is an amazing new part of the law school and it is a gorgeous room. Very state of the art. The show was for about 10 different classes of alumni starting all the way back to 1959. The dean of the school spoke, as did Duke’s president. They also gave out some “half century” awards to 2 graduates from 1959. It was a great ceremony, and then they turned it back over to me to play music. I didn’t get alot of dancers, but I think that everyone enjoyed themselves. I hope that Laura Grisham, previously with The Umstead, will have me back!
