One of the most beautiful places in the Triangle has to be Sarah P. Duke Gardens in Durham. This was the location for Kate and Stefan’s wedding ceremony and reception this past Saturday. I got there nice and early to get set up at the Amphitheater behind the Doris Duke Center. The Bridal party walked in to a Celtic version of Canon in D, and the Bride came in to a Celtic Harp Version of the traditional “Here Comes the Bride”. Ceremony flowers were beautifully done in clean and crisp hues of various green flowers. Flowers used were cymbidium orchids, jade roses, South America lime hydrangeas, Sahara roses, YoKo Ono green button poms and bells of Ireland. A Designing Mind event floral designer Christy White did an outstanding job putting together these ensembles of floral art. Rev. Robin Renteria, Ph.D. handled the ceremony with style and grace. The Recessional song was Michael Franti & Spearhead’s version of “Say Hey I Love You”. Once we got to the reception, the crew from The Catering Company had everything ready to go. We introduced the wedding party and went straight into Kate and Stefan’s first dance as husband and wife. Their first dance song was Ray Lamontagne’s “You are the Best Thing”. Then Kate’s father David delivered an unforgettable welcome. After dinner, the best man Harrison and the Matron of Honor Katherine gave two well planned toasts. Next came the cake cutting, Kate danced with her father, Stefan danced with his mother, and we opened the dance floor which stayed packed the rest of the night. Allison from Sandfoot Photography was capturing the images and I here is a sneak preview of the pictures. Good luck Stefan and Kate, you guys were awesome!
