McLure/Flynn Reception-September 19th, 2009
September 21st, 2009
I met Elissa at a wedding seminar that I participated in earlier this year at the Washington Duke Inn She came up to me and said “Kate Foster told me to get you for my wedding”. I was like “I’m in!”. I will have to say that this wedding was really over the top, but in a good way. Kate Foster Productions handled the planning and really knocked it out of the park. She pulled in alot of amazing vendors, some of which I don’t recall. The entire hotel ballroom had been converted to white, including the carpet! The lighting was amazing and changed almost every hour to another look. Very cool. The cake by Art of Cake was very pretty, it had diamonds on it! Iced out! Bea from Floral Dimensions really did a great job too. Awesome flowers. The event started with a big introduction to “Let it Rock” by Kevin Rudolf. Their first dance was to “Making Memories of Us” by Keith Urban. A welcome and a blessing followed and then a huge dinner was served. After dinner, Sean and Elissa cut their cake and then there were toasts, the final one being from Sean who did a really, really good job with his toast to his new wife. Truly great. Afterwards, Elissa danced with her dad and then we did a reverse anniversary dance. This was a first for me, but basically you start with the newlyweds and then I say something like “all guests married a year or less come on out to the dance floor”, then I just go 5 years, 10 years, etc. The longest married couple was Sean’s grandparts, 66 years! Unbelievable! How great! Finally, it was time to dance. I had 3 hours to fill with dance music, which is a very long set. I was worried, but these folks came to party! What a great response. At one point, Kate Foster got a text saying something about the Kanye/Taylor swift ordeal and we came up with a hilarious idea. We only told the bridesmaid (see the video below). It was really funny! Great wedding all the way around! Check out the pictures below from Kristin with KPO Photography.
